This page explains exactly what Beyond Today stores in your browser, why, and how you can change your mind at any time.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, save information in your browser in the same way. We use the word cookies on this page to cover all of them.
How we use them
Everything currently used on this website is essential: it either keeps the site secure and working, or it remembers a choice you made, such as your cookie preference or the fact you have already sent a survey response. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not build profiles about you.
Optional cookies
We have one optional category, analytics, which would let us count visits and see which pages people find useful. No analytics tool is running on Beyond Today at the moment. If we add one, it will only load for people who have turned analytics on. If analytics is off, or you have not made a choice, nothing optional is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
How consent works
On your first visit we ask before anything optional runs. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, optional cookies start switched off, and closing or ignoring the message is never treated as agreement. Your choice, the categories you selected, the policy version and the date are stored in your own browser. We ask again after twelve months, or sooner if what we use materially changes.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or the button below, to change your choice whenever you like. Turning analytics off updates your stored preference immediately, stops any optional technology from loading and clears optional cookies from your browser where we are able to. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.

The first two entries are set by the infrastructure that serves and protects this website rather than by anything on the page itself, which is why some cookie scanners list them as unclassified.
Have Your Say
Survey responses stay anonymous. Your cookie choice is never added to a survey response or to an email opt in, and the two are kept entirely separate.
