Beyond Today should be somewhere people can take part without unnecessary barriers.
We want our website, information and activities to be as accessible and inclusive as we can reasonably make them. We know people's access needs are different, and we won't always get everything right.
If something is making it difficult for you to use our website, understand our information or take part in an activity, please tell us. We'll listen and consider what we can reasonably do to remove or reduce the barrier.
Using our website
We aim for beyondtoday.org.uk to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This includes considering things such as readable colour contrast, keyboard navigation, visible focus states, descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, clear page structure, and text that can be enlarged without making the site unusable.
We continue to review the website as it develops. If you find something that isn't accessible to you, we'd like to know.
Taking part in Beyond Today
Accessibility is also part of how we plan our activities.
When choosing venues and designing activities, we consider things such as physical access, seating, toilets, transport and location, communication, sensory needs and the nature of the activity itself.
We will use accessible and step-free venues wherever reasonably possible. Where there are known access limitations, we will try to make these clear before an activity so people can make an informed decision about attending.
You will never be required to share personal experiences or speak in front of a group simply because you are taking part in Beyond Today.
Reasonable adjustments
If there is something we could change that would make it easier for you to take part, please let us know.
Depending on what you need and the activity involved, this could include changing how information is provided, adapting how you participate, considering seating or sensory needs, allowing additional time, or another reasonable adjustment.
You don't need to give us more personal or medical information than we reasonably need to understand the adjustment you're asking for.
Where possible, it can be helpful to tell us about an adjustment before an activity so we have time to arrange it, but you can still speak to us about an access need at any point.
If we're unable to make a particular adjustment, we'll explain why and, where possible, look at whether there is another way we can support your participation.

If you need information in another format, please ask.
Depending on what you need, we may be able to provide information in large print, plain text or by phone, or work with you to find another suitable format.
Tell us about an accessibility problem
If you experience an accessibility barrier on our website or during a Beyond Today activity, please contact us at hello@beyondtoday.org.uk. We aim to acknowledge accessibility concerns within five working days.
If you believe you have been treated unfairly or discriminated against, you can also raise this through our Complaints Policy.
